Borussia M gladbach striker Luuk de Jong has agreed a switch to PSV Eindhoven, .

The striker missed the Friday s training session as he travelled to Netherlands to complete a move to Phillips Stadium that will see die Fohlen earn €5.5 million plus another 20% of the future sale.

De Jong will undergo a medical before signing a long-term deal with the Eredivisie giants, with the transfer set to be announced later today.

The 23-year-old will be hoping to kick-start his career in his native country following disappointing spells with Borussia M gladbach and Newcastle.

De Jong had left Twente for the Bundesliga side in the summer of 2012, but he could only manage 6 goals in 36 league outings for the club.

The forward was loaned to Newcastle in Janua…

Swansea agree Amat extension

Jordi Amat has followed team-mate Angel Rangel in agreeing a one-year contract extension with Swansea City.

Rangel put pen to paper on fresh terms at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday, and the Welsh club have now tied down Amat for a further year, with the 22-year-old s original deal due to expire in 2017.

Amat is in his second season with Swansea, having joined from Espanyol in June 2013.

I m so happy because it s important to know the club has confidence and faith in me, Amat told Swansea s official website.

I work hard every day for this and the chairman has been very good to me, so I was delighted to sign an extension.

I m very happy to be here. It s a very exciting time to be part of this club. The team, the staff, the club  it s a…

Klopp confident the goals will come for Reds winger Diaz

Jurgen Klopp is confident the goals will come for Luis Diaz after the winger was wasteful in the 2-2 draw at Fulham last weekend.

Diaz missed two Opta-defined big chances in the Reds opening match of the Premier League season at Craven Cottage, rattling the post in the first half.

The Colombia international took no time to settle at Anfield following his big-money move from Porto in January, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 26 appearances last season.

Liverpool lost Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich in June, but Klopp is backing Diaz to help fill the void left by the Senegal forward.

Asked if Diaz can score 10-15 goals this season, the Reds manager said: Oh definitely, that is his quality. We need to see but of course that is his potential.

Prediction: LA Galaxy vs Dallas

Best Odds: 10/11

Bookmaker:

Two sides who find themselves battling it out at opposite ends of the table, LA Galaxy will welcome Dallas to Dignity Health Sports Park in the early hours of Thursday morning.

LA Galaxy

Starting with the hosts, while LA Galaxy might have enjoyed an eye-catching end to June, The Whites came crashing back down to earth last time out. Putting in what was a toothless display and their worst since returning from the international break, the former MLS champions were hit with a 2-0 defeat against Sporting KC. Losing some ground in the Western Conference title chase and now chasing a five-point buffer to league leaders Kansas, Head Coach Greg Vanney will be desperate to show that defeat was just a minor blip. While Galaxy might still find …

No offers for ´happy´ Bellerin, insists Arsenal full-back´s agent

Hector Bellerin is happy at Arsenal and it is difficult to see him leaving the Premier League club, according to his agent.

The Spain full-back signed a long-term contract with his current employers in November 2016, yet that has not stopped media speculation over his future at the Emirates Stadium.

While rumours of a potential return to former club Barcelona failed to materialise last year, Juventus and Manchester United have been linked with a move for Bellerin.

However, Albert Botines who represents the 23-year-old is unaware of any offers and believes the player has no plans to leave Arsenal in the next transfer window.

There s no contact for Bellerin, no-one has sought me out, Botines told Italian radio station CRC.

He s happy, he s recentl…

Benteke: Klopp did not believe in me

New Crystal Palace signing Christian Benteke feels the arrival of Jurgen Klopp as manager effectively ended his Liverpool career.

The Belgium international joined Liverpool from Aston Villa in July 2015 but failed to make an impact at Anfield and was largely consigned to the bench after Brendan Rodgers was replaced by Klopp in October.

Benteke signed a four-year deal with Palace on Saturday to end his time at Liverpool and he believes the change of manager was one of the main reasons behind his disappointing spell.

A lot of things happened at Liverpool, Benteke told the Palace website.

When I arrived it was with Rodgers as manager, but then he was sacked and Klopp came in and had his own plan.

But that s part of football. I could have done …

Swansea City v Rotherham United: Monk urges focus ahead of League Cup second round

Swansea City manager Garry Monk insists his players will not take their eye off the ball when they host Rotherham United in the League Cup.

The Welsh club have made a great start to the Premier League season, picking up a shock 2-1 win at Manchester United before earning a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Burnley on Saturday.

With the season still in its infancy, those results put Swansea among the English top flight s early leading pack, but Monk insists he will not allow his squad to get carried away ahead of Tuesday s second-round match.

It s great to have six points, of course it is, he said. But we ve got a game Tuesday and that s all I focus on.

It s the best start we could have had in terms of the two games, but you know you re only ever one or two …

Rodgers hails England trio

Brendan Rodgers expects Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson to be influential figures for England in the coming years.

The trio impressed on Sunday as Liverpool bounced back from a 3-1 defeat to champions Manchester City by easing to a 3-0 victory over Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

Sterling opened the scoring inside eight minutes following good work from Sturridge and Henderson, and all three players earned praise from their manager after the game, with Rodgers believing England boss Roy Hodgson will benefit from their continued development.

These are boys that are playing in a top league, with a top club and are showing great awareness, work rate and energy, he said.

They are showing they can play in different systems as well, so the…

Odemwingie opts out of Nigeria

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi says West Bromwich Albion forward Peter Odemwingie has made himself unavailable for national selection.

Odemwingie last played for the Super Eagles in February in a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualification game against Rwanda in June.

After a spell out injured he was invited to play against Liberia last month but declined, with the 31-year-old ruling himself out of international duty.

I spoke to (Odemwingie) before the Liberia game and he told me that he had decided not to play for Nigeria anymore, Keshi told Supersport.com.

He told me that he has no problems with me as a person and that he took his decision even before I assumed position as national team coach.

Odemwingie has a history of falling out with national …
