Premier League preview 09th February 2013

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini can t afford his team to slip up at Southapton this weekend

This weekend’s Premier League programme kicks-off with Newcastle’s visit to Tottenham’s White Hart Lane in the early kick-off.

The home side are enjoying a good season and could go above third place Chelsea in the Premier League table, should the Blues slip-up at home against Wigan.

The home side will be without key striker Jermain Defoe, who could be on the sidelines for up to three weeks. Spurs may start this clash with Emmanuel Adebayor up front, but Clint Dempsey could fill-in up top.

Newcastle have experienced an upturn in form since the arrival of the likes of Yoan Gouffran and Moussa Sissoko.

Fiorentina can use ´bitterness´ from 2023 Europa Conference League final defeat, says Italiano

Vincenzo Italiano has urged Fiorentina to use their bitterness from last year s defeat in the Europa Conference League final against Olympiacos on Wednesday.

Fiorentina lost the 2023 Europa Conference League final in Prague to West Ham 2-1, conceding in the 90th minute to miss out on the chance to lift the trophy.

The Viola have not lost a game in the competition on the way to the final, holding off Club Brugge 4-3 on aggregate to reach the final for the second consecutive year.

Despite suffering disappointment last year, Italiano is hopeful his team can use that as a lesson to lead them to the trophy this time around.

The only thing that s different is that we ve already experienced certain things, Italiano told a press conference before Wednesday s fin…

Cowboys vs Eagles Week 18 Prop Bets: Special Circumstances Lead to Special Teams

The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles will play a near-meaningless game Saturday night, as both teams have locked up a playoff spot. These NFC East rivals will each be missing a ton of key players and predicting who’s in is just speculation at this point.

This game is a real mess from a prop perspective and it’s why the traditional prop markets haven’t opened yet as of Friday. Good thing for you, finding derivative markets is right up our alley despite this game being littered with uncertainties on both sides of the ball. Happy Week 18.

Without further ado, we bring you our Week 18 free prop picks for Cowboys vs. Eagles.

Week 16 NFL Parlay Picks: Giants Defense Steps Up

The holiday season is fast approaching, and so is the end of the NFL season. We’re onto Week 16 of 18, with a full slate of 16 games set to go between Thursday and Monday, the bulk of which will be played on Saturday.

One of those Saturday afternoon games has caught our eye, and we’ll use it to anchor both of our two-leg parlay picks for Week 16.

Jalen Hurts Odds and Props: Hurts Finds the End Zone On Christmas

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been under fire recently with the team suffering three straight defeats. They’ll have a chance to get back on track this afternoon as they host the New York Giants during the Week 16 odds slate.

The Giants came back down to Earth last week with a 24-6 loss in New Orleans after three straight victories, now sitting 5-9, while the Eagles sit at 10-4 as huge favorites at home according to NFL odds.

The time is now for the Philly QB to deliver some presents on Christmas Day, so I’ll be looking at Jalen Hurts’ odds to see if I believe he’ll deliver them, or the sleigh will get lost.

Read on for my NFL picks surrounding the Eagles’ signal caller in this holiday special. Be sure to also check out our Giants…

Packers vs Eagles Friday Night Football Prop Bets: Brown Takes Center Stage in Week 1 Opener

The Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles hit Corinthians Arena for the first-ever NFL game in Brazil, and with one of the highest totals of the week, we should expect offensive fireworks for Friday Night Football.

Here is a trio of NFL player props to kick-start the weekend and complement this clash between the pair of NFC contenders.

Tottenham criticise fans’ homophobic chants during game at Chelsea

Tottenham have criticised homophobic chants by their fans at Chelsea on Wednesday night. The club issued a statement saying there was “no place for discrimination” at Spurs, the morning after a 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.

“The club is extremely disappointed by homophobic chanting from sections of our support at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night,” they said. “We work closely with our LGBTQ+ fan group Proud Lilywhites to create a welcoming and inclusive environment at our club and are proud to display the Progress Flag in our stadium on matchdays.

“No one should suffer discrimination because of their sexual orientation and/or their gender identity and we urge sup…

‘A different challenge’: Stanway ready to fill Walsh-shaped hole for England

One year ago today, England became European champions and Georgia Stanway was an integral part. In the run-up to the tournament, though, she did not believe she would play. With Leah Williamson deployed in midfield alongside Keira Walsh, Stanway, who was playing a number of positions for Manchester City, struggled to nail down a place in Sarina Wiegman’s XI.

Stanway earned her place for the opening game and has not looked back. Now, she is not just a stalwart of the midfield and impressing at Bayern Munich, but critical to England’s World Cup chances with Walsh, the first-choice defensive midfielder, out with a knee injury.

“It’s always difficult in that moment to see your teammate, who is also my best frien…

Nebraska Kickoff Attempt Goes Hilariously Awry

Nebraska got off to a surprise start against No. 8 Ohio State on Saturday, striking first off a 12-play drive of 75 yards to take an early 7-0 lead. The Cornhuskers followed this up by immediately giving all of their momentum back to the Buckeyes with this failed attempt at a kickoff. As the broadcasters speculated, it appeared that punter Caleb Lightbourn was attempting a surprise onside kick that would give Nebraska a chance to increase their lead over the conference foes. Unfortunately, what resulted was Lightbourn doing his best imitation of Charlie Brown trying to kick the ball off of Lucy’s finger. The bright side is that Ohio State’s ensuing drive would end because of a turnover on downs—which the Cornhuskers used to give away a safety. …
