Crystal Palace F.C. manager Alan Pardew has revealed the club would be prepared to sell Yannick Bolasie when the transfer window re-opens in the summer, but if, and only if, they receive at least £40 million for the player.
Just last week, Pardew placed a £20 million price-tag on the Democratic Republic of Congo international, who joined Palace from Bristol City for a fee of around £400,000 in the summer of 2012, but the figure has already increased amid reports linking Liverpool with a summer swoop for the 25-year-old.
I ll sell Yannick, if someone wants to give me £40 million to £60 million, somewhere in there, that would be good, Pardew said.
I ll take it and we ll build the team around that money. Every player has a price, of course.
All these players here are undervalued, in my opinion. This is a top-10 team at the moment, top 12, yet if you put the valuation of our squad against any of the other teams above us, and some below, it s not right.
So I m going to address that. Anyone who rings me up will get a proper price.
It s only our second year in the Premier League so it s understandable [if players are undervalued].
You need to put your credentials there every week. I think these players are starting to do that now; Bolasie, [Jason] Puncheon, [Joel] Ward, [Damien] Delaney.
Therefore when I hear figures being talked about players, they are not even close to where I value these players.
It s very easy to address: a manager has to ring me up and I will tell him the price, and that will be addressed.
Bolasie has tallied four goals and six assists in 29 English Premier League appearances for Palace in 2014/15.
Wanyama plays down Arsenal link
Southampton F.C. midfielder Victor Wanyama has insisted he is happy at St Mary s despite reports suggesting he could be on his way to North London to join Arsenal this summer.
Earlier this week, Wanyama was quoted as saying: Arsenal are a great club and I d love to play Champions League football.
However, the Kenya international, 23, has maintained he is fully focused at Southampton, as the Saints continue to fight for a place in next season s UEFA Europa League.
To put it straight: We all respect Arsenal but right now I m only focused on helping Saints to have a strong finish to the season, Wanyama said via Twitter.
The newspaper article does not say that I have spoken to Wenger or anyone else from Arsenal and that s the truth.
We are doing so well and what other managers think of me as a player is totally out of my control.
